Out of Hours Emergencies.

We are committed to providing an efficient and professional service to our patients, and this includes providing 24 hour cover for medical emergencies.

This service is provided by WestDoc.

WestDoc is a co-operative of doctors already in general practice in their local areas.

It has been developed in partnership with the Western Health Board with the intention of providing the best out-of-hours emergency medical service possible.

WestDoc has been in operation in parts of County Galway since December 2002. Surveys of patient satisfaction with the service have shown that it is indeed "an efficient and professional" service.

The WestDoc service covering the Athenry-Loughrea area is staffed by General Practitioners already working in this area.

You will have an opportunity to discuss your medical problem with a specially trained nurse or on-call doctor.

If necessary an appointment will be made for you to see a doctor at the local WestDoc treatment centre in Craughwell.
